Note: LandDev is in public beta. This policy describes our current data practices and will be reviewed by counsel before general availability. If you have questions about your data, contact us at
mattbundren@gmail.com.
1. Who we are
LandDev, LLC ("LandDev," "we," "us," or "our"), a Colorado limited liability company, operates landdev.us, a web-based platform that connects civil engineering firms, land developers, and reviewing jurisdictions on shared land development projects (the "Service"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
2. Information we collect
We collect information in the following ways:
- Account information. Name, email address, firm or organization name, role (engineer, developer, or jurisdiction reviewer), and password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider).
- Project and workspace data. Information you or your firm enter into the platform to manage projects — project names, addresses, jurisdictions, tasks, submittal status, comments, proposals, and related records.
- Communications. Messages you send us through the contact form, feedback tool, or support email.
- Usage data. Basic technical information such as browser type, device type, pages visited, and timestamps, collected automatically to help us operate and improve the Service.
- Cookies and local storage. We use local storage to remember display preferences (such as light/dark mode) and cookies as needed for authentication sessions. We do not use third-party advertising trackers.
Document and file upload capability is planned but not yet available in the current beta. This policy will be updated before that feature launches.
3. How we use information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the Service, including connecting the correct parties on a shared project;
- Authenticate accounts and enforce role-based access to project data;
- Respond to support requests, feedback, and inquiries;
- Send account-related and service-related communications (we do not send marketing email without consent);
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve the Service's performance and reliability;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Use.
4. How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only in the following circumstances:
- Within your project team. The platform is designed for collaboration — information you add to a project (tasks, comments, submittal status, proposals) is visible to the other parties you invite onto that project, consistent with each party's role-based permissions.
- Service providers. We use Supabase (database, authentication, and backend infrastructure) to host and operate the platform. Supabase processes data on our behalf and is bound to protect it in accordance with its own data processing terms.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or other legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of LandDev, our users, or the public.
- Business transfers. If LandDev is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
5. Data security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and role-based access controls that limit which users can see which project data. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of information transmitted to or stored on the Service.
6. Data retention
We retain account and project information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. If you close your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required for legal, security, or legitimate business purposes (such as resolving disputes or maintaining project records requested by a jurisdiction of record).
7. Your choices and rights
You may:
- Access, correct, or update your account information at any time from your account settings;
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal information by contacting us;
- Opt out of non-essential email communications at any time.
Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable data protection law (such as the right to request a copy of your data or object to certain processing). Contact us to make a request.
8. Children's privacy
The Service is intended for business professionals in the land development industry and is not directed at, or intended for use by, children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Service evolves, particularly as new features (such as document uploads) are introduced. We will update the "Last updated" date above when changes are made, and will provide notice of material changes to active account holders.
